About High Side! Bar & Grill
Since day one, High Side! has been the go‑to gathering spot in downtown Salida.
Founded by local river lovers, High Side is one of the few places in Salida where you can literally float up from the Arkansas River, grab a drink or a bite to eat, and enjoy it on the riverside patio or take it to go and relax by the water.
Our Story
In September 2024, longtime High Side! team members Hallie Whittington and Johnny Shepard took the reins.
They stepped in with a promise to enhance the experience while keeping the spirit alive. The goal is simple: keep it fun, fresh, safe, and full of local flavor.
Meet Marky, our head chef
Marky is the force behind everything coming out of the kitchen right now. He’s not here to serve up bar food. He’s here to raise the bar and has built a menu for both locals and legends!
This isn’t FAST food… it’s FUEL for folks who live hard, play harder, and still expect their fries to be crispy.
Meet Jaden, our lead bartender
At High Side!, bartending isn’t just about mixing drinks. It’s about reading the room, moving with the rhythm, and making something that hits just right after a long day on the river, the trail, or behind the scenes.
Jaden’s the kind of person who sees you before you say a word and pours you exactly what you didn’t know you needed.

We host live music every Friday and Saturday at 7 pm. Treat yourself to cold drinks, good company, and music that hits just right—on the patio or by the bar.
Happy Hour
Join us Monday through Friday from 3–5 pm, and again Monday through Thursday from 9 pm–midnight for drink and food specials.
